Mentoring and me

It seems like the phone is my best friend lately, before it used to be so heavy! now I am on it a lot more, today I was able to mentor a few people over the phone and point them to the right places and explain a little how the colors method works. [link] Even while I am explaining to someone why they prefer team and family keywords in a conversation, they still are receptive and respond when I follow up the instructions with a "don't worry, together we'll crack it" or "stick with me and I'll support you all the way". As long as I have no agenda and I mean what I say, it get's absorbed and appreciated.

I'm luvvin it. (da-da datt datt daaaaa) :-)

Last week's chapter 8 from Think and Grow rich was about decisions and the need to make them so I took it to heart and set dates for my weekly training calls and set the weekend for the team meeting. It's funny, before I would want to know where everyone lived first or I needed to know who would go. Now however, I have found that by setting the date in stone and telling everyone about it, I know it will happen and can plan for that instead of being stopped by the procrastinator goblins.

Magical Formula
choose, decide, plan, follow through.

Todays call

Todays call with Mentoring For Free [link] was the 30 day cleanse day where we discuss what we learned from the book "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolean Hill.

What it comes down to is, decisions or lack thereof; some of the worlds most successful people have said that not some of their biggest mistakes were not making a precise decision or procrastinating when it came to deciding on a course of action.

An example that I think most people in America would understand was that of the story behind July 4th 1776, that's the date everyone remembers but do you know it started even earlier than that? September 5th 1774 , nearly 2 years before the signing of the declaration of independance. This is the date that the First Continental Congress was to be held in Philladelphia. Samuel Adams and John Hancock managed to convince the Correspondence Comittee to agree to it and well, the rest is history :-)

On reading the chapter, I never realised why July the 4th was so important to my American friends. It's not just THE day, its a symbol of what can happen when a few good men have a desire to change their situation and the courage to see it through at all costs, how an idea of such good substance and universal need can focus and drive the desire's of a group of just 56 people and then on to a whole country of people all (well most) striving towards a universal goal that was worthy and good.

A master mind group and decision was the catalyst of it all. So the book says. I'm willing to believe that, the chapter motivated me to set the exact time and date of my next group meeting and send it out to my entire group. I am comitted to the new training calls and the movement in my own business is growning all the time.

To your success

It not only works to get people into your business, it works after they are in your business!

wow, you know the call you just must do when someone joins your business? the thanks and welcome one?
I was pretty good on phoning a welcome but only the welcome, some people would be quite cold and some quite hot. It wasn't until I studied the color to success method [link] that I started to have really good conversations with every single person I call. EVERY SINGLE ONE!

Today I knew before he told me that my new member was or used to be an engineer, I confirmed his primary colour was green after asking another question about how he got to the site and so I proceeded to use words like "exact" and "facts and figures" and "links to check out the company and products" . yey! he was totally responsive and we had a good chat and I feel I have developed a relationship with him.

Not only is it good for me to be able to do this, it is good for my members. They'll have someone they can call and be comfortable with and now I have the skills to determine their strengths and weaknesses (even if they don't know what they are) I can help them so much more and with less frustration than ever before.

I'm still learning the skills and I look forward to meeting new people now and just getting their colour.

It surprises me everytime I see and experience the colors method and mentoring working. I get goose bumps when I can see someone open up, someone who I previously would have thought to be cold and unresponsive.

BELIEF:
I had a funny thing happen today, I was telling my Miss Lovely how some sports science program I watched explained how the body and brain can work together, how the brain can work out the complex mathematics required to throw a ball into a circle or a dart at a board.
Lot's of nice geeky techno babble ensued (in the program) and it seems the best of the best just trust their ability to throw true. They don't need to actually try to hit the bullseye or basket, they just go through the motions that they have done again and again backed by their belief and experience in their own ability.

I watched the program at about the same time as I was reading the chapter on desire in "think and grow rich". It kind of fit in with that and the story about the 4 minute mile on Tony's tapes.

"what's that got to do with anything?" she said

"if you believe and trust yourself, you can do anything" I said trying not to sound too cliche and hammy. :-)

"prove it..." was the challenge...

I picked up a piece of paper and screwed it into a ball, "watch.." says I and wound up to throw it across the room into the waste paper basket, I visualised it and pictured the arc of the path to the bin and believed that my desire would make my brain go click and wurrr (like Robby the Robot) and tossed the paper ball. It went in!! lol she "yey"'d and I "yey"'d (I was surprised too hehe).

not bad but it didn't get scary until I said, "watch, I'll do it again" and picked up a dart. Aimed at the board (ok so I wasn't the regulation distance from the board) and went through the same mental routine and relaxed my shoulders, would up, fired and hit the bullseye on the first dart!

scary!! I had a thought go through my head .."with powers like these, I could be a superhero!" just like Jim Carey in the film Mask.

the next dart went in the 25 ring and the third just below that one.

LOL, it went a bit quiet for a few seconds and we just looked at each other in a soppy way and I told her how I believed we could do anything together (we're sickly soppy according to some people we know!) . It occured to me that Love is like an in built skill, something that you need to just let happen on it's own power, you only have to wind up and let go and trust your heart and brain. If it's really Love that two people feel and they believe in each other then their life will hit the bullseye everytime.

Plus, I considered going on a world darts tour or joining a netball team.

I feel like I'm floating when I go places recently, it's like my whole brain has had that clearing and popping feeling you get when you go up in an aeroplane and I can't wait to see what else it can do!

OMG I hope Michael doesn't turn out to be a cult leader, with his and Tom's Jedi training powers they could take over the world!!

Big Al's conference in London

Big Al and Me

How to get ahead in MLM? Learn from the best!

I've just got back from Tom 'big al' Schreiter's training workshop in London. It only cost me a tenner to go in but I left with more riches than I could have imagined. I am still buzzing from all the information I learnt along with a room full of people all from different MLM companies. All Leaders.
He began with a short intro on how he had troubles for his first year and 10 months and the kind of advice he got from his upline...
"What do I say at the presentations?" he asked...
"Just be yourself...." says the sponsor

"I'm not getting anywhere..."
"go and set some goals...."

and more that I can't remember but each one was acted out and performed to the room. It was hilarious! He had captured us all within the first minute of talking to us and revealing there is more to advice than just the words.

He said there are three types of people you will sponsor in this business..
  1. Those that join and go home and watch TV
  2. Those that join, try it and do it trial and error
  3. Those that join and study the business, they read the books, go to the conferences and become a student of success
    These are the leaders.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Why they say "No"...

After finding that noone in the room could speak Portugese, he asked us how we would get someone to come to a presentation if we was in the middle of Portugal... Whatever we said, they wouldn't understand. they wouldn't come. It wasn't personal, it wasn't because they didn't like us. It was because we didn't have the skills to speak Portugese.

When we make a presentation or enthuse about our business, we are talking about the reasons we think it is good, after getting us to look left and right we all admitted that everyone is different, everyone listens differently, everyone thinks differently. Maybe that's why everyone doesn't join up straight away? lol. it made sense, I wish I could remember the anecdotes and references to why certain colours react differently and how they related to what he was saying. It's all in my head but every time I try to type it, it disappears!

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Learn to speak the 4 secret languages

Tom went on in great detail on how to spot the different colour types. Each colour described was a conference each to it's own, he has a great presence and was able to keep us all enraptured to what he was saying! He explained how Michael Dlouhy [link] is a blue and seeing as Tom is a green, if they went driving somewhere - Tom would drive and Michael would talk! :-)

During all this we had twice turned to someone to chat to them for 3 minutes and see if we could tell the partners colour. I turned to my right the first time and met Petra, she turned out to be blue... I could tell almost straight away, she had already been laughing hard at the funnies and she was very easy to get to talk about something, I only had to give her a verbal prod and off she would go chatting away about family, background, business, partner and more (all in 3 minutes LOL).
Afterwards, Tom asked for a volenteer and my hand went up. He asked me what I had found and I told him, he agreed with my reasons and opinion and I was rewarded with a CD. He asked others and they got CD's too.
The second time I talked to Margaret and she was definitely a yellow, I didn't even need to ask her anything. She'd already given me some paper from her book for me to take notes. she knew I had gone there on my own and made a point to make me feel welcome by introducing me to her partner and friend. YELLOW!!!

It was great fun and it made it clear in my mind how much fun prospecting can be, how the hard work of trying to close someone needn't be done! its great to get to know someone by studying the colors to success method [link] , you just want to find their colour (all these English and American spellings are getting me confused!)

We then all had a 15 minute break....I met Mike and his partner outside when I went for a smoke (booo I know!!) Nice couple, we talked for a few minutes on our different business and it turns out they live near me! small small world in MLM.

On returning we were all waiting for the golden information he had promised us before the break, a nice guy called Rob sat next to me, he asked if I needed a paper and something to lean on (yellow!!) and we all enjoyed the next session....

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Magic Language

Those that know the colours will understand this bit more.

We dealt with what to say in a few words to turn around a person. The magic language that only needs a few words to bring them to your meeting.
My mind has the format and structure of the things he went over but here I'll have to do with snippets rather than exact word for word sentances..

Top left colour:
"would you like to help me?"
"I only need one more person to get a prize, it would be so nice if you could help me"

Top right colour:
"you gotta come, it'll be so exciting, there will be a load of new people there to meet and talk to"
"It'll be great, we're gonna talk about lots"
"about the travel opportunities"

Bottom right colour:
"there's a meeting tonight about the massive earnings of some new members"
"people are being able to fire their boss and not take orders from anyone now"
"there are always competitions to win trophies for top recruiters, they get up on stage and receive them"

Bottom left colour:
"come to the meeting and tell me your opinion"
"here's a pack containing the links to the different sites that explain the different parts of the business"

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Motivation

How to motivate the different colours in your team, why one person will love a cruise and how another would like a weekend at a spa.
Lovely stuff, what to give people based on their colour, how to phrase the same thing but have it heard differently by all.

ker-ching! was all I could hear after this section. :-)

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Who do you get to talk at your meetings?

Oh get the yellow to talk about the products, everyone loves a yellow!
if you must use the blue, take him aside and tell him he's got 30 seconds to speak and get him to rehearse it with you first! lol
Reds? get them to talk about the compensation plan (we thought greens would be best but they'd send everyone to sleep!) reds are more organised.
Who talks about travel? blues? hell, no! Get the reds again.
what about the greens? what do they talk about? ...NOTHING "here's a stack of info" :-D

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Homework

Find 1 person a day who you don't know and talk to them for 3 minutes and find out what colour they are.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------

That's it!

There was much much more but I'm a blue so even though I love to tell you the story, I'm already thinking about what's for dinner and when the movie will start on BBC2.

happy networking and Hi to all those nice peeps I met in the Novotel M4 j4 London

contact me any time

Another training call another wedge of knowledge

I just finished tonights live prospect call training with Michael Dlouhy and Mentoring for Free.

Only one prospect tonight but I picked up a lot today.

Michael called Robbin and within few seconds of her cheery answer and direct response to Michaels opening questions I thought she was a blue. Donna in the chat room where I listen in on the calls said she thought that Robbin was a yellow with blue.
Michael asked her if she had time to meet, she said yes and Michael read an email to her. It took quite a long time and Robbin said a few "uh-huh's" and "um hmm's" but let him finish. This, Donna pointed out was why she thought that Robbin was a yellow. She said a blue wouldn't have let Michael finish the whole email without interrupting. Later, Michael talked about his family and a blue would have jumped in to talk about their own family (again from Donna) so my first impressions were OK but Donna and Michael were on the button!

During the call Robbin actually said she was a yellow and Michael remarked how her primary color was yellow (she had already downloaded the ebook) but she flits to blue. It turns out Robbin was a Gemini and that just made it all make sense. She's a twin, blue one moment and yellow another.

Such wonderful training and experience here, not just learning how to tell someones personality but how to actually deal with them once you know their color. great.

The rest of the call was dealing with the 5 pillars and with what to do next with prospects. More golden info and more food for thought.

***

I phoned Michael up afterwards to ask about the email coaching that is mentioned in the back office, I'm interested in doing it but it costs money and I didn't want to send money to someone I didn't know. Michael says he's an OK guy though and the email coaching is on a experimental phase and maybe it's best for me to wait until it finishes this run and go on the next one. I might do just that.

No calls tomorrow but lots for me to do in my business. Hi-ho, hi-ho it's off to ...etc etc

Mind cleansing in 30 days!

I've just started the 30 day mind cleanse with Mentoring For Free
Every Wednesday, we meet up on the conference call and discuss what we learnt from the chapter assigned from the week before.

We use Napolean Hill's "Think and Grow Rich" and this week it was chapter 7.

We discussed how the business model of a company dictates the practice in the field. Michael made a good point of going to your current company and looking at the procedures and practices (sometimes called Terms Conditions). Do you know that some companies can just cancel your account without you being able to do anything about it? or they can move your entire downline from you to one of their top players just because you complained about another company member? boooo!

Learn from Michaels 2 years experience where he joined over 100 companies to see what drives each business, where people go wrong, what training is/isn't provided and so on. With his 26 years of network marketing experience, he has developed a training system and attitude that he can share with others and everyone wins! He gives something back to the networking industry and we all get free mentoring and training!

You can read Michaels story in his free ebook. [link]

Today's team mentoring and coaching call starts at 3pm EST (8pm GMT) with the live prospects training at 8pm EST (1am GMT)

I've been hungrily listening in on the calls and bought the colors to success cd [link] a while ago and I actually got to use my new skill yesterday, I spent a whole hour on the phone with a prospect who had come to me (because I followed Michaels steps and paid attention to chapter 7 of Think and Grow Rich) wanting a mentor after seeing my blog [link]. This morning he signed up to my networking business and is raring to go with plans of his own conference calls and training which will have my support and input every step of the way.

It WORKS!!

Picking up the phone is so much easier for me now, no longer am I weighted down with the pressure of "making a sale" or "getting the dotted line signed". Now I get to know people and see what it is that they want and help them to get it! I have enough experience now in my own business to be able to mentor and coach new people. With the mentoring for free system, I have an already proven and robust system of training available to every single person in my downline. sorted!

If you'd like to get on the training calls, download the ebook [link] and in there you will find my number, read the book, call me up and presto, you're on to free training that will save you years of frustration!

Until next time....

Gonna meet Big AL !

Tom "big al" Schreiter is on one of his worldwide conference tours and will be appearing very close to me (M4 j4 nr. Heathrow) on Friday. I've booked my place and Judith from MFF says she has told him I want to meet him and it looks like I will.

Click here for the pdf flyer. Let me know if you're in London and want to go!

I'll see if I can get a victory photo with him like on Michaels 10steps ebook site. [link]

I've got my own prospect call tonight! Someone actually came to me and asked about my business, I've only been mentoring for free for less than a month and already I am getting approached about my NM business. I've got my color chart ready and quite a bit of confidence that I am not previously used to having before a call!. Good work!

Here I am again with a new blog

A new blog, a new subject and a new passion to write about!
This is my Mentoring For Free blog, it's where I'll keep a record of the things I learn and experience with Michael, Linda, Judith, Donna, Leo, Roberto and more.

You'll learn how I apply the colors to success method with almost everyone I meet, you can see my progress on my own mentoring efforts and hopefully you might pick up a little nugget here and there.

If you'd like to know more about MFF, click here

The colors to success CD can be found here

Stay tuned while I sort out some fancy template changes and garner some juicy tidbits to report here. Hopefully within the month there will be some audio downloads availabe and links to all the useful information available for free.

Take care one and all (lol, probs just one at the moment)
