I find myself in the position of tutoring and mentoring again. My new affiliate has contacted me for help before I got to him first which is a rare thing indeed. His first reply said the usual stuff that a new affiliate says. He has talked to friends and family and they gave him the bums'rush. He isn't up for talking to people on the phone and doesn't know what to do.
It reminded me of a quote from Flight of the Phoenix.
If you can't give a man a dream give him hope,
if you can't give him hope then at least give him something to do.
Nice! I have signed him up to my 30 day email course for getting started and according to his grammar and wordage I figure him to be a green so he'll need plenty of links and faceless promotion techniques which, as it happens - I have in abundance!
The first thing I did was reassure him and get him to hold back the scepticism for a week or two while we work out something for him to do and his next reply was much more upbeat!
Onwards and upwards!
